In December of 2023, Oleksandra Basko -the inspirational writer of the original diaries that ‘A Non-Fictional War‘ was adapted from- reached out the Moscow Nights team to share her impressions of the theatrical adaptation helmed by Natasha O. Ramer.
A big warm greetings from all of us to your sincere, friendly and creative team ❤️❤️❤️
I’ve been wanting to share my impressions of watching our joint creation for a long time, but I still can’t gather my thoughts…
First of all, my huge thanks to all of you 🙏🏻 what you have done is a colossal job. It feels like you have invested in the project – physically, emotionally, creatively, spiritually ❤️ in every moment of the performance you can feel deep Love and Sympathy.
Second, I cried for the entire 2 hours I watched the movie. The acting is just incredible 😍 Erin and Casey, you are truly incredible, you know that? It is so sincere, so emotional, so charged!
Natasha, and these jokes between them? Is this your job? I didn’t write this 😂 but it really relieves the atmosphere a lot and brings you closer to the viewer 🙏🏻
In fact, I wanted to look at the performance from the outside, as if it were not about me, but about someone else, in order to evaluate it objectively. Sometimes it was successful, but .. hmm.. not for long 😅
In general, it is very strange to see all that whirlwind of feelings and thoughts that was inside me and was almost never manifested from the outside… And in the play, all of this is expressed in the outside world. And it’s so shocking in some places 🫣
You fully showed my inner “schizophrenia”, all those apocalyptic and dual feelings that raged then. Sometimes it’s even scary, and it’s strange to remember it now, because now for almost 2 years we have been living with almost daily air alarms, Shaheds, rockets, not to mention the last winter of blackouts… and now it seems that all those emotions that were then – they are excessive… but in those first days, when we really didn’t understand what was happening, what was going to happen to us… this atmosphere is conveyed extremely skillfully.
Work with light, background video sequence, music, scenery, voice-overs – you really did a masterful job ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Montage also enhances the feeling. And, although you are not in the hall, and you are not watching live, you immerse yourself in the atmosphere completely 🙏🏻
A big-big-endless THANK YOU 🙏🏻❤️ actually, I don’t even know how many people were involved in making this Magic, but EVERYONE’s contribution is truly priceless 🙌🏻
And, Natasha, of course, a special and inexhaustible THANK YOU for seeing, burning with this idea, faithfully implementing it, overcoming all obstacles on the way. For becoming the “glue” that brought us all together ❤️🙏🏻
I want our joint work to bring light to this world. I want it to inspire as many people as possible to remember Ukraine and help 🙌🏻 And I want your Work and your Goodness to return to you a hundredfold 🙌🏻🌸
Merry Christmas to you all 🙌🏻 Light, love, prosperity and peace to your families and loved ones ❤️💞
Hugs 🤗
P.S. sorry for my not perfect English. Hope, it won’t prevent us to understand each other 🙏🏻🙂
And, please, send this to all your soulful team 🙌🏻
